| Guy Phillips Though Chicagoland can claim Guy Phillips as a native son, he has made Saint Louis his home for more than twenty-three years or nearly half his life. It was in high school that Guy discovered he possessed the rare combination of qualities that make a performer consistently good. Not to mention he could leave them rolling in the aisles. Following graduation, Guy enrolled at New Mexico State University where, majoring in broadcast communications, he found his career path. Via KINT-FM in El Paso to XEROK in Juarez, Mexico and KYNO in Fresno, Guy arrived in St. Louis at, then, KSLQ in March 1979. After a twelve-year run and a million laughs, Phillips moved into a new decade of morning levity to start the day at Y98 FM. Guy is as well known for his charitable endeavors as for his radio persona. His philosophy is simple: "This is a community that belongs to us all. We need to care for it and each other. Anyone can give money...it's time that we need to donate." Guy annually dedicates hundreds of hours of service in the Gateway City and Metro East for such causes as The Life Skills Foundation, S.I.D.S., and March of Dimes. Phillips is a dedicated father, obsessed golfer (that’s a single digit handicap he sports), a former basketball referee, amateur photographer, host to visitors from foreign lands, an avid traveler and licensed pilot.
