Mr. Samuel Johnson, Program Director Radio Station WBSS 10 Boyleston Street Boston, MA 17171 Dear Mr. Johnson: As my resume indicates, I have ten years experience in Talk Radio. Please note from the enclosed Arbitron for Providence, RI, Spring 2002, my station, WNBA, had a 3.2 share, and my show enjoyed a 3.6 Prior to being with WNBA, I spent three years with WMSS, Springfield, MA. Enclosed please find a letter of recommendation from Hal Smith, General Manager of the staion. Also enclosed are the ratings for that station, and you will note that my numbers equalled those of the station overall. Your Classified ad stated that you are looking for a liberal Talk Host who is an entertainer as well as a broadcaster. That description seems to have been written with me in mind. Additionally, I am a Massachusetts native, I know Boston and your listening area, very well. I would hit the ground running, not having to learn about the area. Please listen and enjoy the ten minute audio tape I have enclosed. I look forward to hearing from, and hopefully, meeting you. Sincerely Jonathan Wainright |
Second Letter
Mr. Robert Smith
I have the usual requisites. My voice is strong, my knowledge of AC music is large, I speak well, and I have a degree in communications from Rutgers. |

The reason these are well written - They give the PD everything he needs The letters tell him him where they have been, how well they did, and what superiors thought of them. It lets the PD know that he won't be wasting time considering them. They both are qualified at the positions for which they apply. The letters are intelligent, concise, and say what has to be said. They are pleasant in tone, yet are not apologetic or weak. SPEND TIME ON YOUR LETTER AND RESUME. To return to previous page hit the BACK button on your browser. To return to HOME page click here |
